Ghana has confirmed its first case of Mpox for the year 2024.
The Ghana Health Service issued a statement on Thursday October 3, 2024 revealing that the National Public Health and Reference Laboratory identified the case from a young male patient in the Western North Region.
This follows a global rise in cases, with the World Health Organization and the Africa CDC declaring Mpox a Public Health Emergency earlier this year.
