The Ghana Armed Forces has said that there is the need for continuous enforcement of security in the northern parts of the country to forestall any incidents of spill over violence from conflict hit neighboring countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, especially as the country heads into its general elections in December.

This comes as Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire host Exercise Flintlock 2024, the U.S. Africa command’s largest special operations exercise. This is the second consecutive time the two countries are jointly hosting the Exercise.
