Education Policy Research and Advocacy Organization, Africa Education Watch is threatening to embark on legal action if the Ghana Education Service (GES) proceeds to implement the Non-Governmental Organization or Civil Society Organization Regulation policy. 

The policy which seeks to regulate the operations of these organizations has been described by the Education Watch as a calculated attempt to undermine the rights of NGOs/CSOs to freedom of Association, their independence and constrict the Civic Space.

Executive director of Africa Education Watch Kofi Asare tells WADR’s Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson that he is especially disappointed in UNICEF for supporting the policy.
