President Adama Barrow of the Gambia has convened his monthly meeting of the National Economic Council to get an update on the state of the economy.
Held at the State House in Banjul on Saturday, the presentations set the context of the domestic economy concerning the global situation, as the country relies heavily on imports for fuel and essential commodities and does minimal export of local products.
Barrow chaired the meeting to be abreast of the situation in the country amid the risks of inflation, a rise in the exchange rate, and an upsurge in global commodity prices.
From Banjul, WADR’s Sankulleh Janko completes the story.
