Gambians in the Foni region, the birthplace of former President Yahya Jammeh have called for the removal of Senegalese contingent of the ECOWAS forces in their region.

They argued that there is no conflict in the Gambia that warranted their stay in the area while accusing them of pursuing rebels along the Gambia-Senegal border in the southern Senegalese region of Cassamance.
