The Gambia’s president Adama Barrow has launched a political party ahead of the December 4 polls.

Christened the National People’s Party (NPP), the launch was described as largely successful. However some reservations have been raised about noncompliance with to covid-19 protocols

Recall that President Barrow fell out with the United Democratic Party UDP under which he unseated former President Yahyah Jameh in 2016. 

It is strongly believed that this new party is to allow President Barrow stand for another term in office.
