The Gambia Police Force has announced plans to initiate impartial investigation into allegations of financial improprieties at the Independent Electoral Commission IEC, which amount to over eight hundred million dalasi, approximately 119,000 USD.
The Auditor General’s report, prepared by the National Audit Office (NAO), revealed significant discrepancies within the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
However, it remains unclear whether the Gambia Police force has the legal authority to investigate electoral matters.
