Gambian lawmakers on Wednesday passed the Victims Reparations Bill 2023 during an extraordinary session.
The bill is an act to establish a fund for the provision of reparations for Victims of human rights abuses and violations from July 1994 to January 2017.
As Sankulleh Janko in Banjul reports, the bill which would also enable the creation of a commission to manage the fund was adopted after hours of heated debate.
