The Gambian Judiciary in collaboration with Pepperdine University, Los Angeles, USA, on Tuesday organized a workshop focused on plea bargaining in criminal cases.
The meeting aimed at engaging legal partners in preparation for the forthcoming Criminal Procedure Bill currently under consideration in Parliament.
Judges, lawyers, law enforcement officials, and representatives from civil society organizations gathered to discuss the implications and operationalization of plea bargaining in the Gambia legal system.
