In the Gambia, the Independent Electoral Commission has called for calm after the discovery of blank voters' cards. Reports revealed that the voters' cards were discovered in the greater Banjul area.

However, speaking to WADR’s Sankulleh Janko, Deputy Chairman of the Electoral management body Joseph Colley explained that blank cards were remainder of the 2011 and 2016 voter registration exercise which are presently being disposed of to provide space for the arrival of new voter’s card due in the Gambia in few weeks.
