The Government of the Gambia has called on the Myanmar Military to immediately release all detained civilian leaders.

This comes days after the Myanmar's military seized power, having detained Aung San Suu Kyi and other democratically elected leaders.

With troops patrolling the streets, a night-time curfew in force and a one-year state of emergency declared, the Adama Barrow administration is demanding that the military leadership abides by the International Court of Justice’s order on Royingya Muslims.
