Former Senegalese President Macky Sall has spoken out for the first time on the new government’s audit of public finances.
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko recently made a statement painting a dark picture of Macky Sall’s administration, particularly concerning Senegal’s public debt ratio.
He stated that President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s predecessor left a country burdened by significant debt.
However, the former Senegalese president, who now heads the major opposition Takku Wallu Senegal Coalition, appears to be launching his campaign for the November parliamentary elections with a strong rebuttal to the government’s recent statements aimed at discrediting his regime.
