Former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Ghana Professor Frimpong-Boateng has been arrested.
The arrest is in connection with an alleged misappropriation of 28 million dollars spent by an anti-illegal mining committee when in operation.
Formed in 2017 by President Nana Akufo-Addo, the Inter-ministerial Committee was programmed to fight against illegal mining, locally called Galamsey – a practice that continues to cause havoc to Ghana’s water resources and lands.
