As rescue operations continue to evacuate stranded citizens from Sudan, former President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed the Ethiopian government’s pledge to relocate 2,500 Nigerian nationals from Sudan.
Meanwhile, Nigerian authorities are urging their citizens stranded in Sudan to refrain from embarking on perilous journeys in their efforts to return home.
In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Janet Olisa, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, advised Nigerians to prioritize their safety and follow official procedures to ensure their safe return.
