The World Health organization WHO has said that equitable vaccine distribution and solidarity is key to ending the pandemic.
WHO’s director general – Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during the agency’s virtual briefing Monday, remarked on the renewed political partnership from the German government through financing and policies to support its fight against the pandemic.
One such of such partnerships include the ACT Accelerator and its financing.
Dr Gerd Müller, German’s Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development pledged his government’s commitment to strengthening multilateralism for global health.
Ghebreyesus further mentioned that the global Emergency COVID-19 Support Programme, which focuses on critical priorities including health and pandemic control, food security, and displaced populations in fragile settings is of urgent importance.
