Here in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, the government has embarked on a massive road expansion project as well as alternative transportation means.
Beyond road networking, the state is laying rail tracks to ease public transportation.
Since the beginning of the year, road accidents have killed hundreds of people in Senegal, Niger, Nigeria, Benin and Cote d’Ivoire.
While many others have been left with one or two permanent forms of injuries.
