Today’s edition of the show is on Aquaculture and sustainable fishing practices.
Now, Aquaculture can be defined as the breeding, growing, and harvesting of fish and other aquatic plants, also known as farming in water.
It is an environmental source of food and commercial products which help to improve healthier habitats and are used to reconstruct the population of endangered aquatic species.
Technology has increased the growth of fish in coastal marine waters and open oceans due to the increased demand for seafood yet poses grave danger to certain species of aquatic animals.
In the next half hour, we will bring you a report, a guest from Ghana who is a specialist in fish farming and a senior researcher with Amnesty International about a recent report on the effects of overfishing and five other West African countries.
