Heads of state and representatives from ECOWAS member states except for the coup states are attending an extraordinary summit in Abuja.
The conference taking place today, comes under a tense political and security context, especially with recent alleged coup plots in Sierra Leone and Guinea.
But also, the regional bloc has to see ahead as a few countries hold elections next year.
