The ECOWAS Regional Baseline Consultation Workshop is underway in Abuja, Nigeria, bringing together experts and officials from across West Africa to bolster food security and humanitarian response efforts.
The three-day event has drawn around 30 participants from disaster management agencies, civil protection units, and monitoring and evaluation focal points from ECOWAS Member States. The workshop supports the rollout of the ECOWAS Food Security, Nutrition, and Livelihood Humanitarian Assistance Programme.
This initiative targets vulnerable populations affected by regional crises, with a focus on livelihood recovery, food and nutrition, emergency education, cash transfers, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services. The aim is to provide integrated and sustainable support to help communities recover and build resilience.
