The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) responds to accusations of Western interference in Niger-related decision-making since the coup on July 26. 

France is one of the countries perceived to be swaying the West African regional bloc. 

However, ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Abdel-Fatau Musah reiterated the commission’s resolve to restore constitutional order in Niger, independently.
