World leaders took turns to speak to this year’s theme of the assembly which is ‘Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and Its Sustainable Development Goals Towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability for All’.
ECOWAS chairperson, President Bola Tinubu delivered his speech in the early hours of Wednesday after other leaders U.S. President Joe Biden had spoken.
Tinubu in his inaugural speech at the UN headquarters, highlighted a number of issues faced by Africa that he says require a collective and harmonized drive to overcome.
He went on to present a five-point roadmap.
