What do you know about the The Gambia’s local currency called The Dalasi (GMD)?
In this edition of Discovery, let’s share with you some interesting facts about this strong currency, that has seen an extended run as Africa’s best-performing currency for 2023.
According to the Central Bank of the Gambia, this is supported by stronger remittance and tourism inflows. Even Bloomberg financials reported that the Dalasi gained 0.9% against the Dollar in 2023, the most among 23 African countries and one among the three that have advanced.
