The defense ministers of Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso convened at the border between the two countries to address pressing issues.
The dialogue between the two ministers and their respective delegations lasted for 6 hours, culminating in a final press release that will remain confidential.
Their main focus was on resolving the frequent conflicts at various shared borders and strategizing the fight against terrorism.
This significant meeting occurred last weekend in the town of Niangoloko, situated on Burkina Faso’s territory. The meeting was initiated by the Ivorian party.
On Friday, during the day, Burkinabe and Ivorian ministers met in the town of Niangoloko, situated in Burkinabe territory. Discussions primarily revolved around managing the shared border between the two countries and combating terrorism. General Kassoum Coulibaly, Burkinabe Minister of Defense, presided over the meeting.
The issue of military personnel and the Volunteer for the Defense of the Fatherland was among the topics addressed. However, no information has been disclosed on this matter.
One thing is certain: the Ivorian Minister of Defense, Téné Birahima Ouattara, leaves the meeting satisfied.
