A coalition of environmental organizations in Ghana is threatening to picket at Ghana’s parliament house and the Minerals Commission Accra, to protest against the passage of a Legislative Instrument which would allow the minerals commission to grant mining permits in Ghana’s forest reserves, including globally significant biodiversity areas.
According to the group, if the law is not revoked, it will accelerate the destruction of Ghana’s already depleted forest.
