Ivorian President pardons over 50 prisoners charged for post-electoral violence

A total of fifty-one inmates sentenced for the 2010-2011 post-electoral violence in Cote d’Ivoire have received a Presidential amnesty.

The pardoned inmates including civilians and military personnel were also charged with endangering state security.

The decision was announced after the council of ministers chaired by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara on Thursday.
