The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) has announced that it will soon officially announce its presidential candidate for the October 2025 elections.

This will be done at a convention which the party will soon hold.

Bredoumy Soumaila, Spokesperson for the PDCI, also said before the Convention, the team for updating the PDCI-RDA Government program will have been set up by the party president.

He however warned against those who will want to consider running as independents candidates after they are defeated, adding that if anyone does so, it will make the party very bitter about them.

The PDCI is preparing for the pending electoral contests with the party launching a membership caravan that registered more than 23,000 new activists by the end of August 2024.

It will be recalled that on August 9, the PDCI, one of the main opposition parties in Cote d’Ivoire, hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between all the major opposition political parties to demand transparent and inclusive elections.
