Thousands of residents in Abidjan and other parts of Ivory Coast are struggling to cope with a power outage which has gone on for days. The supply of electricity has been disrupted following incidents on the high-voltage interconnected network.

In a statement issued by the Ivorian Electricity Company (CIE) on Wednesday, the company explained that in the current hot weather conditions, these disruptions are linked to malfunctions observed on some interconnection lines with border countries.  

The company also noted that it had mobilized its teams to restore the situation as soon as possible.
