Some opposition political party leaders in Ivory Coast have been released from detention. Chief executive Secretary of the Opposition Democratic Party of Côte d'Ivoire Maurice Kakou Guikahué, chief of staff to the president of the PDCI-RDA N'dri Pierre-Narcisse and several other political detainees were released on Tuesday afternoon by the Ivorian courts.
Confirming the release, lawyer for Maurice Kakou Guikahué noted that his client was now under judicial control and in high spirits.
