Exiled former speaker of the National Assembly of Cote d’Ivoire says he will continue the struggle to re-organize elections in Cote d’Ivoire.
Guillaume Soro currently lives in France and was recently appointed to National Transitional Council, a parallel government announced by the opposition following the weekend’s elections.
The opposition boycotted that election, citing unfavorable conditions for a credible outcome. It also President Alassane Ouattara was not qualified to participate. But President Ouattara says he is qualified for a third term following a 2016 referendum that re-set the clock on term limit.
In a video message Wednesday evening, Soro said that a failure to confront Ouattara would be cowardice.
