The Ivorian government has confirmed the arrest just over a month ago of a Burkinabè soldier and an auxiliary soldier.

According to the government spokesman, discussions are underway and focus on finding a solution to the issue of border crossings.

Regarding the release of this soldier and auxiliary of the Burkinabe army, Amadou Coulibaly assured that exchanges are continuing between Abidjan and Ouagadougou.

It should be noted that the two security personnel were arrested last February.

In September 2023, two Ivorian gendarmes were also arrested in Burkina Faso after inadvertently crossing the border into Burkina Faso.
