The Dixinn court in Guinea on Monday heard testimonies from defendants, victims, and witnesses in the case related to the 28 September 2009 massacre.

The prosecution called for the reclassification of the case’s facts, proposing that the defendants be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

This plea received support from the lawyers representing the civil party, who argue that given the developments, the prosecution is well within its rights to make such a request.

However, the defense holds a different perspective and plans to contest the prosecution’s plea.

Providing further details in this report by WADRs Thierno Alpha Ibrahima Bade in Conakry is Oge Obierika.
