Authorities in Cape Verde have attributed the reduction in the country’s population to the loss of inhabitants to emigration from 2010 to 2021 and the decrease in the birth rate.

This was disclosed on Tuesday in a new report by the country’s statistics agency, the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
