An atmosphere of tension prevails in Sierra Leone as the population grapples with apprehension over a call for protests on June 12th and 13th by a Sierra Leonean resident in the Netherlands, Abdul Will Kamara, who is affectionately known as Adebayor.

These protests are aimed at expressing discontent with the procedures leading up to the public elections scheduled for June 24th.

Freetown correspondent, Patrick Sallia, reports that security operatives are already on high alert, determined to prevent a recurrence of previous incidents that resulted in significant damage to both lives and properties.
