The President of the Burkinabe government, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, late Tuesday, carried out a vast reorganization of the army by creating three new military regions. This brings the number of military regions to six.
The president also announced the creation of a new air region, bringing to two the number of military air regions. In addition, he announced the creation of six gendarmerie legions and six groups of forces.
