Burkina Faso’s High Council of Communication has sanctioned TV channel BF1 for covering the congress of the Association of Journalists of Burkina.

The journalist who reported on the event was also suspended.

Authorities had earlier dissolved the association and arrested its leaders after they denounced press freedom violations.
