The Burkinabe National Gendarmerie has graduated over a thousand recruits to serve the nation.
For five months, the young officers acquired essential military knowledge supplemented by professional training at the Gendarmerie Training Center in Gaoua, in the west of the country.
James Adjapong reports that the first batch of the auxiliary units includes 1,498 non-commissioned soldiers, including a hundred technicians in various fields and nine female personnel.
