Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, has initiated a performance evaluation of his cabinet members to ensure effective governance. The move aims to track the execution of government projects and contracts, holding ministers accountable for their responsibilities.
As part of the review, the Minister of National Defense provided an update on the country’s security situation. General Célestin Simporé reported that 71% of the national territory has been reclaimed from armed groups, a significant milestone in Burkina Faso’s fight against terrorism.
Despite this progress, the government acknowledges that security challenges persist. General Simporé assured the Prime Minister of intensified military operations to consolidate gains and restore full territorial control.
The cabinet assessment is expected to enhance efficiency and transparency within the government, reinforcing Burkina Faso’s commitment to stability and national development.
