Members of the transitional legislative assembly unanimously voted for the ratification of the Liptako Gourma Charter establishing the Alliance of Sahel States.

Through this charter, the Government of Burkina Faso now has a legal framework for combating terrorism, in collaboration with neighboring states, Mali and Niger.
