Incumbent Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso has been declared winner of the November 22 presidential elections.
He emerged winner after securing 57.87 percent of total votes in the first round of the election.
President of the Independent electoral commission, Newton Ahmed Barry Thursday made the pronouncements at the nation’s capital – Ouagadougou.
According to Barry, Kabore received 1.6 million votes of the nearly three million ballots, with voter turnout at 50 percent.
