Burkina Faso has declared its willingness to join the BRICS group according to Prime Minister, Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla.
Speaking on the development on Tuesday, the head of government explained that Ouagadougou hopes to maximise the advantages BRICS offers to further develop the country.
He however wishes that the current members of the group will welcome Burkina Faso’s request.
Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla said the Russian ambassador to the country had expressed the desire for Faso to join the group earlier on.
It should be noted that the BRICS group, is composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and represents a growing economic and political force on the international scene.
