An officer has been removed from the ranks of the Burkinabe army by the decision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
Captain Alira Elisée Martial, formerly head of the Sollé detachment in the northern region, was struck off by decree on 5 January.
He was accused of particularly serious misconduct.
According to our sources, the officer abandoned the military compound during a terrorist attack at the end of December 2023.
Several people were killed in the attack.
