The Beninese authorities have agreed to temporarily lift the ban on crude oil export from Niger via its port.

Cotonou also authorized the loading of the 1st ship to transport oil from Niger to China.

The decisions were taken after the visit of a Chinese delegation to Benin amid a diplomatic row between the two neighbouring countries.
