Benin and Niger, two neighbouring countries experiencing a diplomatic rift may see yet another level of heightened tension as Cotonou announces a drastic law.
Beninese authorities have effected a blockade to prevent the vessels of Niger’s partners to load oil from Niamey.
As a reminder, it is at Sèmè Kpodji in Benin that Niger’s oil is shipped abroad.
This blockade will remain in force until Niger reopens its border with Benin, says Cotonou.
