Authorities in Bamako have given the Swedish ambassador to Mali, 72 hours to evacuate the country.

The announcement by the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the latest in a chain of developments since the killing of Malian troops alongside Wagner Fighters from Russia by armed groups in the northern region.

While Moscow mourned, Ukraine said it had provided support to independence groups in Kidal in launching the attack.

Since then, a diplomatic dispute has ensued.
