The Peace and Security Council of the African Union has denounced assertions that security and the civic space in the Sahel is deteriorating.

The council made its remarks in a report published earlier this week after it met on May 20 in Addis Ababa.

The PSC is also asking countries of the Alliance of Sahel states to reconsider their decision to withdraw from ECOWAS.
