The African Union (AU) has issued a call for a swift return to constitutional order in Niger and Gabon, both of which recently experienced military coups that ousted civilian governments.

This appeal was made by the AU Peace and Security Council after its recent meeting on Tuesday, where it assessed the situations in both nations.
