Ghanaian Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has failed in her attempt to become the Guinness World Record holder of the longest individual cooking marathon also known as the cook-a-thon.

Chef Failatu’s cooking marathon began at midnight on January 1, 2024, initially aiming to reach the finish line on the morning of January 5, 2024.

She however ended the marathon on January 10, 2024, recording an overwhelming 227 hours surpassing the current record by Irish Chef Alan Fisher who finished at 119 hours and 57 minutes.

The attempt, which captivated audiences worldwide, unfortunately fell short of meeting
the stringent guidelines set by Guinness World Records.

Also note that officials at the Guinness World Records disqualified Afua Asantewaa, following her attempt to break the longest singing marathon she attempted in December 2023.

They said Afua couldn’t make the mark because she broke some of their rules.

How are Ghanaians reacting to this decision?
