In Nigeria’s Borno state, at least 25 fishermen were killed by Islamic extremists.
The attack took place in the remote Mukdolo village, which has been a hotbed of extremist violence for years.
The rebels, who are believed to be members of Boko Haram and its offshoot, the Islamic State West Africa Province, attacked the fishermen despite warnings to stay away from the river.
