The opposition political coalition Yewwi Askan Wi in Senegal has firmly rejected the national dialogue conducted by the government, labelling it a political charade.
In a statement issued on Monday, the coalition leaders emphasized that their party is not represented by any organization or individual participating in the dialogue.
They also issued a warning, citing a clause from their party charter, which explicitly states that every member must refrain from any political compromise or engagement with President Macky Sall’s regime.
They assert their right to impose appropriate consequences on anyone found to be in violation of this clause.
One such case is that of Khalifa Sall, the leader of the Taxawu Senegal Party, who attended the dialogue initiated by President Macky Sall on May 30th.
