In a collaborative effort to combat terrorism, four neighbouring countries in the sub-region namely, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Ghana have come together to strengthen their border security.
The decision was announced in an ongoing meeting in Lome, the Togolese capital.
The first cross-border cooperation gathering of the year, focusing on enhancing security measures began on Tuesday, May 16 and ends today, Thursday, May 18.
This meeting will further discuss measures to protect the regions in northern Togo, the eastern and the centre-east of Burkina Faso, Ghana’s Upper East region and the departments of Atacora and Alibori in Benin.
